Inwood Street Baking is a labor of love. Long before I ever went to culinary school in Chicago, I learned to bake from my Grandma Dorothy at 29 Inwood Street in Yonkers, NY. She was able to bake with “a handful of this” and “just enough flour until it looks right.” I’ve come a long way since then, but I’ve never forgotten the things she taught me. There is a certain quiet peace in baking that doesn’t happen anywhere else. I look forward to that quiet and the precision in the measurements that result in a perfectly yummy cake or a deliciously crispy cookie with a chewy middle.
